Dear You

You hang out with your Junior friends.
Awesome, I love Junior girls ( read sarcastically)
or at least the ones you hang out with.
You tell me that she likes you.
You really like the attention.
She calls you her "Best Friend."
She doesn't know the meaning of the word
because she doesn't know you like I do.

She likes you because you're good looking;
Because you're funny, smart, and nice.
Because you would be a good kisser.
Shes not wrong. you are those things.
I just think they are generic things to say,

If you were to ask me why I love you,
It's not because of generic things.

I would say I love you because you watch the bachelor with me.
Because you got a 27 on your ACT without studying.
Because you hate mayo, and I think its crazy
Because you have a list of names you want to name your kids.
Because you make me laugh when I feel at my worst.
Because we get into deep conversations about anything. about everything
Because you have the same addiction to soda that I do.
Because you sing so passionately and so off pitch when 3 doors down comes on.
Because you're my motivation to get a bikini body.
Because you have one of the biggest hearts I know.
Because you call my my mom and talk to her like you're best friends.
Because of the way I feel when I'm with you

We can all love someone because They are good looking.
Because they are nice, and smart, and could potentially be a good kisser.
The trick is finding someone to love based on the little things.
and not settling for someone that only sees the generic things in you.

Sometimes, All You Need is one.

  -One Tree Hill

Out of all the quotes, in all the movies, in all the speeches given, by any important person, this is the one I love the most. It might not be from Gandhi, or be as motivational or as moving as Martin Luther's Speech. But its the one that speaks to me. In case you were wondering...at this moment there are 7,215,396,092 people on the earth. That's a lot of people that are just trying to make it.That's a lot of people here, and yet sometimes we are still lonely.

Lyrics That Mean Something

This blog post is supposed to be "different." whatever that means. After thinking about it all week, and coming up with nothing I've decided it might be good if you didn't have to listen to me for once. I've decided to have other people talk for me, "the pros of saying all things beautiful." I guess you could call them. I just call them songwriters. There's something about finding song lyrics that say exactly how you feel. Have you ever noticed when you find lyrics that stand out to you, you have to put that song on repeat for at least the next week? Maybe that's just me. These are some of mine that have been on repeat this week.

"Over you, I'm never over..over you, there's something about you, its just the way you move, the way you move me." - John Mayer

"But forgive me love, I cant turn and walk away this way." -John Mayer

"We all need something new, something that is true, someone else to feel it to." - Bryan Adams

"Your lonely nights have just begun, when you love someone." -Bryan Adams

"Your faith is all it takes, and you can walk on the water too" - Brit Nicole

"Maybe I should let you go, and maybe I'm scared to know anything else" - Alex G

"All I want is the taste that your lips allow." - Ed Sheeran

"When was the last time you let your heart decide?" - Aladdin

"Maybe redemption has stories to tell. Maybe forgiveness is right where you fell. Where can you run to escape from yourself? Where you gonna go? Where you gonna go?" - Switchfoot

"It should be me, knocking on your door, kissing you on the mouth." - One direction

"We all need something, this can't be over. If I could hold you, I swear I'd never put you down." - One direction

"You're the hope that keeps me trusting." -Lifehouse

"I was only looking for a shortcut home, But it's complicated, So complicated." Lifehouse

I think we can all find lyrics to fit certain situations in our life. Maybe that's why we like music so much, it puts feelings into words so perfectly, words that maybe we couldn't find ourselves.Whatever the reason, music is something we can all relate to, something that we can all feel, and something we can all love.

Kisses with a Stranger

We all have seen this picture. To most people, at first glance this photo looks magical. Well thanks to my photography teacher, he told us that this photo isn't really as romantic as it looks. He told us that in fact, these two people didn't know each other, and this woman called this act a "Rape Kiss." To my photography teacher I say: SCREW YOU. Way to ruin the magic. Maybe that's what you see. but, when I look at this photo, that's not what I see. I see someone who was so happy in one moment, he had to share it with someone, even it was a complete stranger. I think we should all learn from this photo. We should all have moments, where we are so happy, we want to kiss a stranger. Ive never had a defining moment in my life where it was announced that the war was over, but I have fought my own battles, and I have had moments in my life where I have been so happy I could kiss a stranger.

1. The day I got my puppy, after wanting one for 12 years.
2. The day I got into Creative Writing, after being told it was full.
3. The Christmas Morning I found out I was going to Hawaii
4. The day I found god
5. That day my mom got married.
6. The day I found out my best friend was coming back.
7. That moment I felt wanted by someone, like I wanted them.
8. The encore at the One Direction concert
9. The night I got the text from him, telling me I was a good writer
10. The beginning of Junior year when I realized for this first time I would have a dad.

Anytime we have moments like these, when we realize our struggles are over,  or when are dreams come true, we should always share them with people so find someone worth sharing them with, even if it is a stranger.

fairytales and transparent hearts

You know in the cartoons when a character falls in love how their eyes turn into big pink hearts, and their heart actually gets bigger and beats out of their chest? It's the movie producers way of telling us that the character is in love. Don't you wish the signs of being in love were that dramatic? You're standing on the doorstep with a guy and all a sudden a sappy love song that makes your heart melt begins to play and your skin becomes transparent and your heart gets bigger. You would know you're in love. Unfortunately life isn't like the movies. Falling in love doesn't happen in a single moment, and it certainly isn't as definable. Then again what do I know? I've never been in love. Though falling in love can be hard, I think the harder part is finding out what love is.

So what is love? And how do you know your in it?

Being in love is different for everyone. We all feel it, but people feel it differently. Some people fall hard, and fast and aren't afraid of the fall. Others are cautious and slow, and go one step at a time. Some people fall in love at 17, others not until they're 50. Some people can find a way to fall in love with everyone. Others only find that kind of love in one person. Some people fall in love through trials and getting through them together. Some fall because they have so much in common.

I don't know what kind of a love I'll have. I only know the kind of love I want. I want a love like my grandparents, who fell in love over a package of Oreo's and have spent the last 52 years with the same love they had back then. I want a love like my parents, who have had many trials, but have found a way to work through those and see the good in each-other. I want a love like in the movie Safe Haven, to have a guy who would do anything for me, and love me endlessly and so passionately.I want a love like Bon Jovi, who married his high school sweetheart, and through the many fans and beautiful woman, he has only wanted her.

Everyone wants love. Everyone wants to be loved. Everyone is looking for that toe curling kiss, and that happily ever after, including me.

Friendzone Labels

I wonder if you know that I think about you all the time
I think about You and I and what would happen if those words combined.
right now those words are together, you've labeled them as "just friends".
I have other ideas how I would label those words.

I wonder if you know I think about you all the time.
creating movie worthy scenarios to a Bryan Adams song.
They start with a little rain, and end with a kiss.
yeah I guess you could say I really like your lips.

I wonder if you know I think about you all the time.
replaying that night that we watched a scary movie.
my head was on your chest, and I couldn't have been happier.
I wanted to fall asleep, but didn't want to miss the moment.

I wonder if you know I cry about you sometimes
especially when you tell me about the girls you're chasing
you ask me why you can't find the right girl to be with.
I wish I could tell you its because your not looking at me.

I wonder if you ever wonder about me.
Over analyzing every word you say,
Interpreting meaning, and questioning everything.
Do you have feelings for me??

I wonder if i should tell you how I feel about you and I.
Then I remember your friendship is too important to me.
so i guess for now I'll continue with my scenarios
and wonder about you and I labels.

Finding Neverland

Things we should have listened to when our parents told us:

"Don't wish your life away."
"Enjoy being young"
"There is plenty of time to grow up"
"You're only young once"

Most of us heard these phrases once or twice from our parents. Maybe some of us heard them hundreds of times and rolled our eyes. Back then, growing up seemed so magical. Most of us imagined and wondered what it would be like to be older: to drive, date, and boss our own kids around one day. Most of us also probably said we would never make our kids do chores when we are parents. We didn't imagine that growing up was hard, and not just fun. As we are almost adults now we're starting to realize that our parents were right. "Enjoy being young, you're only young once." The problem is most of us realize this too late.

Do you remember being young? The biggest fear you had was a monster under your bed. (or in my case I was afraid of Wolverines.(don't ask)
Do you remember being young? The most pain you felt was scraping your knee, or getting rug burn from wrestling around on the ground.
Do you remember being young? The hardest battle you fought was at the dinner table, fighting your mom about eating your vegetables.
Do you remember being young? The most heartache you felt was when you missed your mom or dad.

Sometimes I think Peter Pan had it right. Sometimes I wish I could go to Neverland and be young forever. I wouldn't have to grow up. I wouldn't have to pay taxes, move away from home, worry about providing for a family, experience heartbreak, and pain and the fears that come with being an adult.

It's these reasons I'd really like to go to Neverland. However, I don't think I would like to stay. There are still parts of growing up I'd like to experience one day. Things like falling in love, getting married, having children, and all the other good parts of growing up. Growing up is hard, and most of the time its scary. But I think in the end, it's worth it.
